Bannuar ti La Union is an organization of migrant workers and their families in La Union. Its formation can be traced to the March 2001 provincial consultation of returned OFW and families organized by Kanlungan Centre Foundation, Inc in partnership with the Office of the Provincial Governor, under the administration of the Giv. Justo Orros. Thirty returned OFWs, mostly women from various municipalities of La Union attended the two-day consultation.
To date, Bannuar enjoys the membership of more than five hundred migrant worker returnees and families of OFWs mostly from the municipalities of Pugo, San Gabriel, Naguilian, Bauang, Sudipen, Santol, Aringay, Caba, Bacnotan, Luna and the City of San Fernando.
Headed by its president Rufina Quanguey, Bannuar hopes to serve OFWs and their families by giving them social services that can improve their quality of life.
The free email center located in San Fernando, La Union is the tenth such Free Email Center launched by the PH Domain Foundation. Project launching was held June 29, 2002. |
