Criteria in Selecting Partners
The PH Domain Foundation forges partnerships with various
rural-based organizations - whether an NGO, PO, civic
organization, religious, educational or media institution.
These organizations can also be based in Metro Manila, but
with local chapters, branch offices, or partners in rural
areas.
The PH Domain Foundation is guided by specific criteria in
selecting its local partners:
1. |
Must be a
fully-established institution (NGO/PO/educational/
religious/media) that operates or have operational
programs in remote areas,* |

|
a) |
with
long standing, sustained and active presence in
the area (minimum of 1 year) |
b) |
with
program focus and capabilities in community
building, women & youth organizing, literacy,
education and training, and socio-economic
development. |
|
|
2. |
Must have
project sites and/or partner organizations found in
barangay/communities with electric distribution
utilities and with telephone lines. |
|
3. |
Must have
the capabilities to maintain and sustain PH Domain
Foundation project in the area. Specifically, the local
partner can identify and assign a local *Project
Manager* tasked to ensure the following: |

|
a) |
that
the local area network of 3- 5 computers are well
maintained and technical problems immediately
resolved. Project Manager should still identify
and assign someone who exhibits the most interest
and technical aptitude towards computers and
networking. |
b) |
that
efforts are directed towards heightening
awareness, interest and confidence in the use of
the service by the target beneficiaries. |
c) |
that
the service is used and maximized by target
beneficiaries to contribute to the
community's betterment or upliftment. |
d) |
that
the target beneficiaries contribute their
counterpart for use of the free email by either
rendering productive service to the community. |
e) |
and/or
to the people's organization they belong to that a
system is developed to allow all interested
community members use of the service. |

4. |
Must be
able to provide a physical center in the project site to
house the computer network. The physical center must be
open to other community members. |
