Criteria in Selecting Partners

The PH Domain Foundation forges partnerships with various rural-based organizations - whether an NGO, PO, civic organization, religious, educational or media institution. These organizations can also be based in Metro Manila, but with local chapters, branch offices, or partners in rural areas.

The PH Domain Foundation is guided by specific criteria in selecting its local partners:

1. Must be a fully-established institution (NGO/PO/educational/ religious/media) that operates or have operational programs in remote areas,*

a) with long standing, sustained and active presence in the area (minimum of 1 year)
b) with program focus and capabilities in community building, women & youth organizing, literacy, education and training, and socio-economic development.

2. Must have project sites and/or partner organizations found in barangay/communities with electric distribution utilities and with telephone lines.

3. Must have the capabilities to maintain and sustain PH Domain Foundation project in the area. Specifically, the local partner can identify and assign a local *Project Manager* tasked to ensure the following:

a) that the local area network of 3- 5 computers are well maintained and technical problems immediately resolved. Project Manager should still identify and assign someone who exhibits the most interest and technical aptitude towards computers and networking.
b) that efforts are directed towards heightening awareness, interest and confidence in the use of the service by the target beneficiaries.
c) that the service is used and maximized by target beneficiaries to contribute to the community's betterment or upliftment.
d) that the target beneficiaries contribute their counterpart for use of the free email by either rendering productive service to the community.
e) and/or to the people's organization they belong to that a system is developed to allow all interested community members use of the service.

4. Must be able to provide a physical center in the project site to house the computer network. The physical center must be open to other community members.
